My Career Counseling Experience

My Career Counseling Experience

I bring more than 20 years of career counseling and coaching experience, including over 10 years supporting accident victims and disabled veterans, as well as 10 years serving in two Colorado Workforce Centers. My work has included providing career counseling and coaching with assessments, writing resumes and cover letters, interview preparation with mock interviews, creating job search workshops for adults age 50 and older, and facilitating self-confidence workshops for job seekers statewide.

Creating and Teaching a Job Search workshop to the 50+ age group, meeting for 4-8 weeks and covering a multitude of job search principles and methods. This workshop was attended in person and over the internet for the entire State of Colorado Workforce Center clients.

I have noted that job seekers feel a dip in their self confidence and for this reason, I created and facilitated a workshop in Building Self Confidence for Job Seekers. This was also offered over the internet for the State of Colorado Workforce Center clients.

  • Gallup-Certified in CliftonStrengths (formerly StrengthsFinder), with expertise in interpreting results and helping clients apply their strengths to their current career and the job search process.

  • Certified Career Transition Coach through Career Thought Leaders, with training to guide clients through career change with clarity and confidence.

  • M.Ed. in Counseling and Guidance, providing a strong foundation for helping you understand your preferences, work skills, and values.

  • B.A. in Teaching Social Studies and Sociology, offering insight into adult learning and educational and traditional development.
